Position Title: Controller / Director of Finance
Reports to: Owner / Managing Physician
Location: San Antonio, TX
Employment Type: Full-Time (Onsite)
Overview
The Controller will serve as the financial leader responsible for consolidating, managing, and optimizing the accounting, reporting, and financial performance of a physician-led enterprise operating across multiple business lines. This individual will establish integrated financial systems, deliver real-time performance visibility, and provide strategic guidance to support sustainable growth.
· Medical Insurance operations
· Concierge / Cash Pay / Personal Injury practice
· Surgical operations
· Medical Receivables Factoring (A/R purchasing)
· Ranch & Exotic Animal business (low volume)
Future initiatives include launching a physician investor group for a surgery center and owning related real estate assets, managed through a third-party property management firm.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Consolidation & Reporting
· Develop a unified financial reporting structure consolidating all entities.
· Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements with performance dashboards by business line.
· Implement standardized KPIs to track margins, cash flow, and operational performance.
Cash Management & Treasury Oversight
· Maintain comprehensive oversight of enterprise-level cash flow, liquidity, and capital allocations.
· Forecast and manage working capital requirements across entities to ensure adequate funding and risk control.
· Oversee intercompany transfers, investment funding, and debt service.
· Establish treasury processes and daily/weekly reporting for visibility into cash positions and funding needs.
Systems Integration & Process Development
· Implement scalable accounting systems and dashboards (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Power BI) to consolidate operations.
· Establish efficient internal controls and process automation.
Payroll & Human Capital Finance
· Transition payroll from a third-party provider to an internal system.
· Manage payroll operations for ~45 employees, scaling to 60 as the business grows.
· Ensure compliance with all employment tax and reporting regulations.
Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
· Lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis across all business lines.
· Support modeling and investor structuring for the physician investor group and real estate entities.
· Evaluate business opportunities and provide financial input for decision-making.
Compliance & Governance
· Maintain GAAP-compliant financials and ensure tax and regulatory compliance across all entities.
· Coordinate with external CPA firms, attorneys, and advisors.
Property & Investment Oversight
· Support real estate ownership and investment activities.
· Collaborate with property managers to monitor budgets, leasing, and performance metrics.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
· 7–10 years of progressive experience in multi-entity or healthcare-related financial management.
· Demonstrated expertise in cash management, treasury operations, and liquidity planning.
· Strong experience in payroll, budgeting, and FP&A.
· Proficiency with QuickBooks, NetSuite, and financial visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
· Excellent communication and organizational skills.
· Ability to work in fast paced environment.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
