Temporary Accounting Assistant

BASIC POSITION FUNCTION
Under the supervision of the Accounting Supervisor, the Temp Accounting Assistant position is a full-time position non-exempt position. Responsibilities in this position include assisting in the day-to-day maintenance of the Agency’s accounting system.
- $25.19/hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounting
- Work with accounting staff to ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with GAAP.
- Enter credit card transactions for 60 cardholders.
- Processes vendor check request, reimbursements, and other payments.
- Generates monthly transaction reports for invoicing.
- Assists in creating accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Generates internal budget reports monthly for staff.
- Scanning/electronic filing of various documents.
- Other accounting support as needed.
Administrative
- Responds to vendor inquiries.
- Assist with audits as needed.
- Interacts with employees in reviewing financial transactions.
Community Outreach
- Provide support for agency programs and activities as needed.
Professional Development
- Attend required meetings and training.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Willingness to sign a Training Agreement, if required, for participation in mandatory trainings related to program compliance and government funding requirements.
- Ability to work flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
- Provide translation support for documents and verbal communications if fluent in Spanish
- Assist with and provide support for Reach Out events as needed.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:Preferred Education:
- AA or higher Degree from an accredited college or university with some background in business or accounting or
- A combination of education and experience equal to an associate degree.
Preferred Experience:
- Two-Three (2-3) years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably in a non-profit environment.
- Fluent Bilingual Spanish/English.
Knowledge of:
- QuickBooks Software for Nonprofits.
- GAAP.

- Work Environment - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is infrequently exposed to extreme outside weather conditions. The employee is infrequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. On occasion the employee could be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as found in an office environment.
