Commercial Driver's License Driver

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Driver to join our transportation team. In this vital role, you will operate various types of vehicles, including limousines, mid to large-size SUVs, transit shuttles, and coaches, to safely transport passengers. Your primary focus will be ensuring that each passenger receives safe, reliable transportation and excellent customer service. This role combines professional driving with white glove customer service and the ability to share local knowledge, history, culture, and points of interest in a clear and personable manner - while adhering to all traffic laws and transportation safety regulations.

Duties

• Safely operate all commercial vehicles in the fleet in accordance with state and local driving laws.
• Transport passengers of diverse backgrounds while ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
• Assist passengers with wheelchair assistance and provide support for boarding and disembarking as needed.
• Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents, including first aid and CPR when necessary.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine mechanical checks to ensure optimal operation.
• Communicate effectively with passengers, dispatchers, and team members using clear language and active listening skills.
• Respond quickly to traffic changes or road hazards by adjusting routes safely while maintaining timeliness.
• Adhere strictly to transportation safety regulations, vehicle codes, and transit policies to ensure compliance at all times.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections, report vehicle maintenance issues promptly, and perform emergency stop procedures if required.
• Demonstrate excellent behavior management skills to manage passenger conduct professionally.

Experience

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for passenger transport (e.g., P endorsement for passenger vehicles).
• Proven experience driving buses or similar large vehicles in a commercial setting.
• Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations applicable to school bus or transit operations.
• Experience working with diverse communities preferred - including but not limited to children, seniors, individuals and communities with disabilities, corporate professionals, and/or tourists
• Familiarity with emergency response procedures for transportation incidents including first aid and CPR certification is a plus.
• Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems to assist with basic troubleshooting is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities.
• Ability to lift heavy objects safely when assisting passengers or performing vehicle checks.
• Demonstrated ability to respond quickly to traffic changes and adapt routes accordingly while maintaining safety standards.
