Position Summary
The Commercial Non-Driver is responsible for actively participating in all aspects of commercial and residential moving projects. This is a hands-on field role focused on physical execution, teamwork, safety, and customer service. While this position does not include driving responsibilities, the Commercial Non-Driver is equally accountable for the successful completion of each move.
Commercial Non-Drivers are expected to support all phases of move execution and uphold Company standards regardless of project type.
Reporting Structure
Reports To: Operations Manager or Crew Leader
Works Closely With: Crew Leaders, Drivers, Operations, Warehouse, Dispatch, and Customers
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Move Execution & Labor Responsibilities
Perform all physical aspects of moving, including lifting, carrying, loading, unloading, packing, and unpacking.
Assist with disassembly and reassembly of furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
Support commercial furniture installation and placement as directed.
Follow job scopes, work orders, and crew leader instructions.
Customer Service & Professional Conduct
Interact professionally with customers at all times.
Protect customer property, facilities, and furnishings.
Communicate issues, damages, or concerns immediately to the Crew Leader.
Safety, Compliance & Accountability
Follow all safety policies and procedures.
Use proper lifting techniques and PPE.
Report incidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions immediately.
Administrative & Timesheet Responsibilities
Accurately complete daily timesheets.
Ensure time is recorded correctly to the appropriate job.
Assist with job documentation as required.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Ability to lift 100 lbs. repeatedly.
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in commercial or residential moving.
Furniture handling or installation experience.
Work Environment & Expectations
Field-based role with physical labor in varying environments.
Exposure to weather, stairs, tight spaces, and heavy lifting.
High level of accountability, teamwork, and professionalism required.
