Job Overview
Newfound Lake Inn is seeking an experienced and dependable Line Cook to join our kitchen team. The Line Cook will prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient workstation.
Responsibilities
- Work assigned stations during service, including grill, sauté, and oven
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines
- Demonstrate basic knife skills and assist with food preparation as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked station throughout service
- Complete thorough cleaning and closing duties at the end of each shift, including deep cleaning of the assigned station
- Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and kitchen safety procedures
- Monitor food levels and communicate with the kitchen team when ingredients or supplies need to be replenished
- Work efficiently and accurately during busy service periods
- Communicate and work cooperatively with the Executive Chef and other kitchen team members
- Assist with additional kitchen duties as needed
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional cooking experience
- Basic knife skills
- Experience working a professional kitchen line preferred
- Ability to work grill, sauté, and oven stations
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout service
- Ability to perform thorough cleaning and deep-cleaning duties at the end of the night
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Weekend availability is required
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team
- Commitment to food safety, cleanliness, and quality
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
