Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support our day-to-day accounting operations. This role is ideal for someone early in their accounting career who enjoys working with numbers, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is looking to grow within a stable, established company.
Key Responsibilities
- Process high-volume invoices, ensuring proper coding, approvals, and timely entry
- Manage accounts payable and receivable workflows, including tracking outstanding balances
- Perform vendor statement reconciliations and proactively resolve discrepancies
- Assist with job costing support, including reviewing invoices tied to specific projects
- Support Work in Progress (WIP) tracking by maintaining accurate cost documentation (preferred, not required)
- Prepare and post basic journal entries as needed
- Assist with month-end close, including reconciliations and reporting support
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records
- Communicate with vendors, project managers, and internal teams regarding billing and job-related costs
- Assist with credit card reconciliations and expense tracking
- Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls
- Support process improvements within the accounting function
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience preferred
- Basic understanding of accounting principles (AP/AR, debits/credits)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Business Central preferred)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
