Job Description
Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Long Term Care (LTC)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to join our Long Term Care facility and provide excellent rehabilitative care to our residents. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to help patients regain mobility, strength, and independence.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans for residents
- Provide therapeutic exercises and modalities as directed by the Physical Therapist
- Monitor resident progress and make adjustments to treatment plans as needed
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care for residents
- Document patient progress and treatment outcomes accurately
- Educate residents and their families on exercise programs and safety measures
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Valid PTA license in the state of practice
- Experience working with elderly populations in a long term care setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- CPR certification
- Knowledge of Medicare regulations and documentation requirements
