We are seeking an Mechatronics Engineer to join an innovative engineering team developing next-generation scientific instruments. This role combines robotics, fluidics, embedded electronics, firmware, and mechanical design to create advanced electromechanical systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys hands-on product development and working across multiple engineering disciplines within a collaborative startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and improve electromechanical systems for scientific instrumentation.
- Develop and maintain robotic and fluidic subsystems.
- Design and prototype electronic circuits using microcontrollers, sensors, motor drivers, and control electronics.
- Develop and maintain real-time embedded control firmware.
- Perform hardware assembly, integration, testing, debugging, and validation.
- Improve product performance, manufacturability, and system reliability.
- Integrate electromechanical hardware with optical systems.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute innovative engineering solutions.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, firmware, and systems engineers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 4 years of product development experience involving electromechanical systems.
- Strong understanding of robotics, motion control, sensors, actuators, and electromechanical design.
- Experience designing electronic hardware including:
- Microcontrollers
- Sensors
- Stepper motor drivers
- Power and control electronics
- Experience with 3D CAD modeling and rapid prototyping.
- Hands-on fabrication experience using machine shop tools such as milling machines, lathes, drills, or sheet metal equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced engineering environment with evolving priorities.
Experience with any of the following is a plus, but is not required:
- Fluidics
- Robotics
- Scientific instrumentation
- Optical systems
- Photonics
- Embedded firmware
- FPGA development
- Physical simulation (thermal, fluid, electromagnetic)
Salary : $110,000 - $120,000
