Job Title: Compliance Officer
Location: Colchester, VT

Role Overview:
The Compliance Officer plays a critical role in supporting business operations and continuous improvement by ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and contractual obligations. This role focuses primarily on export control compliance across multiple North American locations, while also supporting broader compliance initiatives related to contracts and customer requirements.

• Ensure company-wide compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, including ITAR, EAR, CUI, and applicable federal/state requirements (e.g., DoE, NRC).
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation required for export control compliance.
• Oversee Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) compliance, including implementation of training programs, documentation standards, and system controls.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve internal compliance policies, procedures, and training initiatives.
• Conduct internal audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews to identify gaps and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with legal teams, regulatory bodies, and external auditors as needed.

• Support Sales and Business Development teams in reviewing and negotiating contract terms and conditions.
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, including FARs, DFARs, and other regulatory clauses.
• Develop and maintain compliance matrices aligned with customer and regulatory requirements.
• Review, update, and audit internal procedures and processes to ensure consistency and compliance.
• Perform additional compliance-related duties as required.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Law, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a compliance role, preferably within a regulated industry.
• Strong understanding of U.S. export control regulations, including ITAR, EAR, CUI, and related frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to travel across North American facilities as required.
• Certification such as Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) is preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing or defense environments is an advantage.
• U.S. citizenship required due to access to export-controlled information.
