Position Summary
The Contracts Manager owns and manages the end‑to‑end contracting workflow for a high‑volume, B2B commercial contracting environment. This role is responsible for administering the full contract lifecycle from intake and triage through execution and post‑execution management while ensuring consistent application of company contract standards. The Contracts Manager partners closely with in‑house counsel, business teams, and contracts administration, and serves as the primary owner of the contract lifecycle management (CLM) platform and related processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Contracting & Workflow Management
- Manage the end‑to‑end contracting process for B2B commercial agreements, including NDAs, material supply agreements, and other standard commercial contracts.
- Own contract intake and triage, assessing requests, identifying risk or non‑standard issues, and routing matters appropriately.
- Coordinate drafting, negotiation support, approvals, execution, and post‑execution administration in collaboration with Legal and business stakeholders.
- Identify legal, commercial, and process issues during contract review and escalate to attorneys as appropriate.
CLM Ownership & Contract Lifecycle Administration
- Serve as the primary owner and administrator of the contract lifecycle management (CLM) system.
- Configure and manage workflows, templates, clause libraries, approval paths, and reporting within the CLM platform.
- Ensure accurate contract data capture, storage, and lifecycle tracking, including renewals, amendments, expirations, and obligations.
- Drive adoption and consistent use of the CLM system across business units and divisions.
- Partner with Legal and other stakeholders to continuously improve CLM functionality, data quality, and contracting efficiency.
Template & Standards Management
- Maintain and manage contract templates and standard positions in partnership with Legal.
- Ensure consistent use of company contract standards across business units and contracting channels.
- Support updates to templates and playbooks to reflect legal, regulatory, or business changes.
Cross‑Functional Coordination
- Act as a key liaison between in‑house attorneys, business teams, and contracts administration.
- Support business stakeholders in navigating contracting processes and timelines in a high‑volume environment.
- Promote efficient, scalable contracting practices across a multi‑channel and/or multi‑division organization.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5–8 years of experience in contracts management, contract administration, or a related role supporting commercial agreements.
- Substantial experience managing the full contract lifecycle in a B2B contracting environment.
- Strong experience with NDAs, material supply agreements, and other commercial B2B contracts.
- Demonstrated ownership of contract workflows and processes, including intake, triage, execution, and lifecycle administration.
- Experience owning or administering a CLM platform strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting high contract volumes in a multi‑channel and/or multi‑division organization strongly preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and workflow management skills.
- Ability to identify legal and contractual issues and escalate appropriately.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong coordination abilities across Legal and business teams.
- Detail‑oriented, process‑driven, and comfortable operating in a fast‑paced B2B commercial environment.
- Sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive legal and commercial matters.
Working Relationships:
- Works closely with in‑house attorneys to support contract review, risk identification, and escalation.
- Partners with business stakeholders to enable efficient and compliant B2B contracting.
- Coordinates with contracts administration to ensure accurate execution, storage, and lifecycle tracking.
