What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forklift Operator position at Rastelli Bros?
Job Description: Operate forklift and other qualified machinery to aid production efforts. Complete all necessary paperwork to record movement of products throughout the warehouse.
- Duties:
- Work directly with the production line by moving raw materials, packaging, supplies, finished goods, and other items to and from the warehouse, freezer, coolers, shipping and receiving docks. Accurately record all movement of materials, packaging, supplies, and finished goods. Accurately complete all required paperwork.
- Remove shortages of needed raw materials, packaging, and finished goods to the appropriate supervisors. Inform maintenance of any issues dealing with machinery to ensure the safety of equipment.
- Remove line waste. Maintain a neat and organized work area and perform general housekeeping of personal workstation.
- Continually perform visual inspections focused on safety hazards and report this to a supervisor so that the issue may be resolved. Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and goods manufacturing practices. Wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as required. Perform other duties as required or assigned.
- Follow all standard operation procedures, company policies, and provincial and federal safety guidelines.
- Follow all safety requirements, including housekeeping, LO/TO, and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), and engage in facility safety efforts. Participate in the improvement of product, services, and processes. Perform visual inspections in regard to safety and quality.
Requirements:
- 4 Years of experience working in Production
Physical Requirements:
-Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Bilingual (Preferred not required)
This position is located in the Food processing facility.
Standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching are required in all areas.
Repetitive lifting might be required. These positions work in a cold work environment. The average temperature ranges from 45 degrees to 50, depending on the area.
Hourly Applicants ONLY -
Work Shift:
Monday through Friday: First Shift: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
Monday Through Friday: 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM
