Job Summary: The Concrete Foreman is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and directing the daily activities of a concrete crew on construction projects. This includes ensuring all concrete preparation, placement, finishing, and curing is performed safely, efficiently, to the highest quality standards, and in accordance with project blueprints, specifications, and schedules.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervision and Leadership:
- Lead, supervise, and train a crew of concrete laborers and finishers.
- Communicate daily plans, goals, and safety guidelines to the crew.
- Monitor crew performance, provide guidance, and resolve any work-related conflicts or problems that arise.
- Ensure all personnel adhere to company policies and project specifications.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Lead daily pre-job/pre-task planning and safety meetings.
- Enforce all OSHA and company safety policies and procedures on the job site.
- Identify, correct, and report potential safety hazards, and investigate any accidents or incidents.
- Project Execution and Quality Control:
- Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine concrete placement, finish requirements, dimensions, and elevations.
- Plan and supervise concrete installations from layout, excavation, formwork, reinforcement installation (rebar/mesh), pouring, finishing, and curing.
- Accurately set forms to desired elevation, depth, and alignment.
- Inspect all work to ensure quality and compliance with project plans and industry standards.
- Logistics and Administration:
- Estimate, order, and schedule the delivery of materials, equipment, and supplies (e.g., concrete, rebar, forms).
- Monitor project progress and maintain adherence to the construction schedule.
- Complete and maintain accurate daily field reports, timecards, and material usage records.
- Coordinate with other foremen, subcontractors, and project management personnel.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of [3-5] years of proven experience in concrete construction, with at least [2] years in a supervisory or foreman role.
- In-depth knowledge of concrete construction methods, form building, steel reinforcement, grade setting, structural concrete, and concrete finishing techniques.
- Ability to read, interpret, and work accurately from blueprints, specifications, and construction drawings.
- Proficiency with basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, area, volume, and basic geometry) to calculate materials and measurements.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- OSHA [10 or 30]-hour certification is preferred.
- Valid driver's license, with a CDL being a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments (e.g., dirt, dust, noise).
- Physical strength and stamina to frequently stand, walk, kneel, stoop, crouch, and lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work an extended work schedule as needed to meet project deadlines.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
