Automation Engineer/ Control Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer / Controls Engineer to support manufacturing automation systems at a leading biotechnology organization. This role will focus on maintaining and troubleshooting automation systems, updating and retooling existing systems, and integrating new skidded equipment into manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and troubleshoot DeltaV automation systems used in manufacturing.
• Update, retool, and maintain existing automation systems.
• Support the onboarding and integration of new skidded equipment.
• Perform PI data analysis and review/troubleshoot automation code.
• Resolve equipment breakdowns and manufacturing quality issues.
• Support technical transfers, engineering projects, and process improvements.
• Manage change controls and complete lot assessments to support lot release.
• Review SOPs, functional specifications, and work instructions.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams.
• Participate in an on-call rotation as required.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Approximately 5 years of hands-on DeltaV experience.
• 5–10 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or equivalent industrial automation environments.
• Experience with manufacturing and process automation, system troubleshooting, and automation code.
• Familiarity with PI data analysis, change controls, and GMP-regulated environments.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualification

• Experience with automation validation.
