Desktop Support Technician

Randolph Public Schools is searching for a highly skilled and motivated Desktop Support Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate for this position has a strong understanding of desktop operating systems, routinely thinks outside the box to solve problems quickly and provides excellent customer service. The Desktop Support Technician will be responsible for ensuring each department achieves key customer service metrics, repairing computers and performing technical and system diagnostics as required. Job Goal: To provide effective deployment, maintenance, and support of all business operational components, including but not limited to the configuration and deployment of multi-platform devices, application of security policies, software installation and patch management, audio visual equipment, and management of networking technologies required to support an educational environment. Performance Responsibilities: 1. Responds to all support requests and tickets. 2. Maintain detailed inventory, maintenance, and support statistics. 3. Items 1 & 2 are performed in part through interaction with district’s helpdesk and asset management platform(s). The Desktop support technician will ensure all data they enter or interact with in the helpdesk system is accurate, including but not limited to identifying issue types, resolution actions, associating the correct students/staff /assets with support tickets, and other information as necessary. 4. Able to troubleshoot and perform break/fix actions on student and staff equipment, such as Windows laptops and Chromebooks. 5. Assist with providing professional development training for staff when needed. 6. Assist in the development of effective/efficient maintenance practices. 7. Assist with the deployment and maintenance of all desktop, mobile, and peripheral technology equipment. 8. Maintains all software installations, updates, and patches. 9. Performs additional duties as assigned by the Director of Technology
