The Randolph High School Assistant Principal is accountable for assisting the Principal with the administration and the efficient operation of all aspects of the high school facility consistent with sound educational principles and philosophy of education which strongly emphasizes student learning and success.
School-Level Responsibilities
• Support the development of the School Improvement Plan.
• Facilitate standards-based educational practices, enhance professional development and dialogue, and a culture of academic excellence.
• Provide school-wide feedback that directs educators’ collective and individual efforts to implement standards-based teaching practices.
• Participate in the Professional Development Committee to plan teachers’ growth opportunities.
• Assist with discipline in the school. Stabilize student discipline, monitor teacher teams, implement standards-based pedagogy and curricula, and establish full inclusion for the majority of students.
• Support programming focused on students’ socio-emotional needs.
• Create data reports to lead school-wide and classroom-based interventions involving student attendance, behavior and other at-risk indicators by providing supervision and coordination of high school administrative data operations.
• Evaluate teachers, guidance and paraprofessionals through observations, conferences, and reports.
• Manage professional-status teachers’ individual professional development plans.
• Create and manage process for using formative assessments to guide instruction.
• Lead and coach teams of teachers to analyze data, develop strategy, and enhance instruction.
• Serve as an academic liaison among parents, partners, teachers, and administrators.
• Coordinate administration of all assessments including school-based and state level.
• May plan and coordinate the master schedule process.
• Facilitate course registration process and assist counselors in student scheduling.
• Coordinate staff development with principal.
• Assist in the supervision and coordination of curriculum development.
• Supervise the instructional programs and staff in the departments as assigned.
• Attend / supervise extra–curricular activities such as dance, plays, musical events, parent education.
• Provides leadership as a school liaison with the department chairs and directors.
• Help to plan and facilitate staff meetings.
• May provide some building level oversight of special education/504's
• Perform all duties as assigned by the principal and/or superintendent.
Individual Contract, Full Year with 25 vacation days
