Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Houseman to join our dynamic hospitality team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance of guest areas, public spaces, and back-of-house facilities. Your proactive approach will ensure a welcoming environment for guests and staff alike, supporting the seamless operation of our hotel. Duties

• Perform comprehensive floor cleaning and maintenance using various cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffers, and mops to ensure pristine surfaces throughout the property
• Handle chemical agents safely by following proper procedures outlined in Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to maintain sanitation standards
• 1. Maintain and clean rooms, bathrooms and work areas
• 2. Clean furnishings and carpets
• 3. Clean and maintain common areas within the hotel
• 4. Assist with maintenance issues5. Assist with bellman duties when required6. Reply guests’ questions and handle any concerns7. Assist front desk staff as and when required8. Replenish supplies in guest rooms9. Change bed linens and empty trash as required10. Assist housekeeping staff with laundry removal
• Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling tasks to move furniture, supplies, or equipment as needed for room setup or maintenance
• Assist with hotel housekeeping management by supporting housekeeping staff in cleaning guest rooms, corridors, and public areas efficiently
• Maintain high standards of sanitation by cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, lobbies, and other designated spaces with attention to detail
• Follow hotel emergency procedures promptly during incidents or safety concerns to ensure guest and staff safety
• Use cleaning equipment properly and perform routine inspections to ensure all tools are in good working condition
• Requirements
• Proven experience in hotel housekeeping or custodial roles with a strong background in industrial or janitorial cleaning practices
• Knowledge of floor care techniques including vacuuming, polishing, and chemical handling for various surfaces
• Familiarity with hotel emergency procedures and safety protocols to respond effectively in urgent situations
• Ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely while adhering to health and safety regulations
• Excellent customer service skills to assist guests courteously when needed
• Physical stamina for heavy lifting, prolonged standing, walking, and manual handling tasks throughout shifts
• Previous experience managing or supporting hotel housekeeping operations is preferred but not mandatory
