Job Summary: The Human Resources & Safety Administrator will provide administrative support to both the Human Resources and Safety departments. This dual-role position involves maintaining personnel records, supporting onboarding and training processes, ensuring compliance with HR and safety regulations, managing data entry tasks, and supporting day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment. This position will be the first point of contact for HR-related queries from employees and external partners.
This is an hourly role located in the Elko, NV facility reporting directly to the Payroll and Benefits Manager.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Human Resources:
- Maintain and organize employee records and HR documents (paper and digital).
- Assist with onboarding and the new hire experience.
- Ensure compliance with USCIS Form I-9 and conduct periodic audits.
- Respond to employee HR-related queries with professionalism.
- Prepare HR-related reports and internal communications.
- Accurately enter data into HR systems and perform data quality checks.
- Support day-to-day operations of the HR department.
- Assist with compliance with company policies and labor laws.
Safety Department:
- Maintain compliance records for OSHA/MSHA and safety training.
- Track and report MSHA and OSHA hours monthly and as required.
- Support administration and tracking of safety certifications and training.
- Provide administrative support for safety programs and projects.
- Compile safety reports and assist with internal communications.
- Assist in planning and execution of safety initiatives and documentation.
- Submit required safety data to ISNetworld (ISN) and maintain company compliance status.
- Create and execute companywide mandatory monthly safety meeting PowerPoint presentations.
- Track training certification dates and proactively schedule recertifications.
Cross-Functional Duties:
- Draft memos and company-wide correspondence as needed.
- Manage and organize files and records for both departments.
- Interact courteously and effectively with all levels of staff.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Provide reports to management and assist with audits and inspections.
- Support both departments with other duties as assigned by management.
- Accurately enter data into corresponding fields within various software programs.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in HR, safety or administrative roles preferred.
- 2 years of data entry or office administration experience
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Capable of multitasking and prioritizing in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-directed with the ability to work independently.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems and safety compliance tracking tools is a plus.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
- A proactive and curious mindset, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
- Comply with all policies and procedures in the Employee Handbook.
