Job Summary: We are seeking a seasoned safety professional to join our team as Safety Supervisor. This role will play a critical leadership role in ensuring the health and safety of all personnel across RAM Enterprise job sites. This position is responsible for helping develop, implementing, and enforcing safety policies and procedures that align with company goals and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in regulatory compliance, risk management, and employee engagement, with the ability to lead audits, deliver training, and support field operations. This role requires flexibility for on-call duties, travel, and working varied shifts, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with employees, clients, and regulatory agencies. A proactive, team-oriented approach and a commitment to continuous improvement in health and safety are essential.
This is a salary, exempt position in Elko, NV reporting directly to the Safety Compliance Manager.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervision:
- Help mentor a team of safety professionals across multiple job sites.
- Help foster a collaborative, accountable, and proactive safety culture through strong leadership and communication.
- Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation for the Safety Team to ensure adequate coverage and support.
- Facilitate regular team meetings, safety briefings, and professional development opportunities.
- Serve as a liaison between field safety personnel, project managers, and safety manager.
- Promote team engagement and morale while ensuring alignment with company goals and safety objectives.
- Identify high-potential team members and support their growth through mentorship and training.
Safety:
- Help lead and manage safety programs across multiple job sites, including surface and underground mining environments.
- Conduct and facilitate MSHA Surface and Underground training for RAM employees.
- Prepare and present post-incident corrective actions and root cause analyses using ICAM, TapRooT, Fishbone, and 5 Whys methodologies.
- Interact professionally with clients, MSHA and OSHA inspectors, and other regulatory agencies.
- Provide on-call safety management coverage, including weekends, nights, and holidays as needed.
- Perform field safety specialist duties and support job sites with hands-on safety leadership.
- Conduct site audits, inspections, and hazard assessments to prevent MSHA-citable conditions.
- Deliver clear goals, ongoing training, and open communication to the Safety Team to manage risks and enhance productivity.
- Support supervision in training employees in loss control and safe work practices.
- Maintain accurate safety documentation, including training records, inspections, and incident reports.
- Addressing employee safety concerns promptly and professionally.
- Help ensure compliance with DOT regulations and maintain basic DOT knowledge.
- Knowledge of ISN/Avetta is a must.
- Participate in pre-job planning, client meetings, and safety briefings.
- Promote a proactive, team-based approach to managing safety issues.
- Stay current with federal and state safety regulations and recommend policy updates as needed.
- Travel and work out of town as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- MSHA Surface Required Underground Preferred UG must be obtained no more than 1.5yr
- OSHA 10/30 certified, required. Must be able to obtain 500 within 1.5yr
- A valid driver’s license is required upon hire and as a condition of employment
- 3 – 5 years of previous surface and/or underground experience in training and/or safety related field
- Ability to lead site audits, incident and accident investigations, prepare investigation reports using
ICAM, TAPROOT, FISHBONE, AND 5 WHY
- Knowledge and experience with DOT compliance and regulations
- Demonstrated experience in accident prevention, safety auditing, safety/health compliance, and performance as a safety technical advisor
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Ability to provide accurate interpretation of MSHA & OSHA regulations
- Knowledge to apply Federal, State and Company safety requirements to job-site practices
- Ability to develop and sustain positive working relationships with all personnel
- Possess good communication skills, i.e., written, verbal and listening
- Must possess strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Demonstrated competency in adapting to change
- Self-motivated and willing to devote time to training programs
- Bilingual in Spanish, preferred
Criteria/Conditions:
- Work is performed in various industrial settings, including shop environment, mining environment,
- construction environment, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity,
- moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles.
- While performing the duties of this job, you will be required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual
- dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear, and see.
- Occasionally it may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (75 pounds) during the workday.
- Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, including hard hat, hearing protection,
- safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, gloves and other required protective
- equipment as required.
