Product Design & Development: Collaborate with product line teams to translate requirements and specifications into mechanical solutions—creating CAD models, mechanical assemblies, and drawing packages. Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, electrical engineers, test teams, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure mechanical designs integrate seamlessly with other disciplines—ensuring manufacturability, cost efficiency, and performance. Prototyping, Testing & Validation: Support or oversee prototype builds, physical verification, thermal or structural testing, and validation against pre-defined performance metrics. Support cost reductions or product improvements through Value Engineering (VA/VE). The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience: BSME or MSME 5 yrs. experience in electro-mechanical Product Design. Ability to work with operations team and suppliers to optimize for manufacturability. Understanding of production and assembly processes for electronic equipment. Ability to design independently or within a small team. Understand Additive Manufacturing processes. Be passionate about moving customer requirements into fully functioning mechanical assemblies. Excellent written and oral communication skills. High proficiency with Creo & Windchill CAD SW. Experience with Creo Simulate desired. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools with an emphasis on Excel. Experience in prototyping, testing, and evaluating your own designs (dynamics, thermal, EMC). Strong sheet metal design, fabrication, tolerancing and assembly knowledge. Ability to analyze/evaluate sheet metal chassis design for structural integrity and strength to weight optimization. Ability to visualize system level assembly requirements and integrate into overall structural design. Strong Thermal Analysis Skills. Experience with CFD tools and techniques. Knowledge of Celsius Thermal Solver a plus. Ability to create thermal models from CAD concepts and correlate model results to empirical data. Understanding of thermal analysis techniques from component level to system. Experience creating detailed component packages and integrating them into larger system level models. Experience designing cables, PCBs, plastic, and machined parts. Knowledge RF interconnect and shielding a plus. Experience leading projects and teams. The ability to travel (infrequent). Practiced use of basic statistics for design analysis and DOE.
