What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant General Counsel, Global Regulatory and Government Affairs position at Ralliant?
This role serves as a key legal advisor and strategic partner to the Associate General Counsel, Global Regulatory & Government Affairs , providing expert legal counsel and leadership across Ralliant’s global regulatory and government affairs portfolio. The ideal candidate is a licensed attorney with deep experience in international compliance and regulatory matters, capable of independently managing legal assignments, advising cross-functional teams, and driving enterprise-wide initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Provide legal counsel on a broad range of global regulatory matters, including product compliance, environmental compliance, privacy, human rights & cybersecurity.
Governmental affairs, including engagement with federal, state, and local agencies, pursuing incentives, and leading general advocacy efforts.
Serve as a delegate of the VP/AGC, independently managing legal assignments and representing the legal function in cross-functional and executive-level discussions.
Draft, review, and advise on legal documents, policies, and communications related to regulatory compliance and public policy.
Monitor and interpret evolving global laws and regulations, assessing their impact on business operations and advising internal stakeholders accordingly.
Lead or support global initiatives and programs that advance the company’s compliance posture and regulatory strategy.
Collaborate with external counsel, consultants, and internal business leaders to ensure alignment with legal, regulatory, and corporate objectives.
Translate complex legal and regulatory concepts into clear, actionable guidance for non-legal stakeholders.
Support the development and delivery of training programs and internal communications on key compliance topics.
Contribute to the design and execution of strategic initiatives, including human rights programs, ESG efforts, and global policy engagement.
Travel as needed to support global operations and stakeholder engagement.
Required Skills & Experience
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Active bar membership in good standing
6–8 years of legal experience with deep expertise in international regulatory compliance.
Strong background in a highly regulated industry (e.g., defense, aerospace, advanced technologies, government contracting).
Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound legal judgment in a fast-paced, global environment.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and advise across all levels of the organization.
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to build trust and drive alignment across functions.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, SharePoint).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a publicly traded or highly regulated industry including advising foreign subsidiaries.
Familiarity with ESG/CSR programs and reporting.
Familiarity with EH&S programs and governance.
Familiarity with export controls, sanction and customs laws.
Background in project management or cross-functional program leadership.
