Billing Specialist – Revenue Cycle
Raleigh, NC | In-Office/Hybrid

Raleigh Medical Group, PA is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our established Revenue Cycle team in Raleigh. This role will support billing operations with a focus on Dermatology services, ensuring accurate billing, timely reimbursement, and efficient resolution of claims. Dermatology billing experience is a plus, but not required. This position plays a critical role in supporting both operational success and the overall patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Ensures accurate patient billing by reviewing documentation, coding, and authorizations prior to claim submission.
- Submits claims and performs follow-up on unpaid, rejected, or denied claims; resolves claim issues in a timely manner.
- Reviews accounts receivable and works to resolve outstanding balances.
- Responds to patient billing inquiries and processes payments while providing excellent customer service.
- Collaborates with clinical staff and providers to ensure accurate charge capture and documentation.
- Communicates billing trends, issues, and discrepancies to leadership as appropriate.
- Processes requests for medical records related to billing, audits, or payer inquiries.
- Maintains compliance with HIPAA regulations and safeguards Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Adheres to established Revenue Cycle workflows, policies, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
• High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in physician billing, insurance follow-up, or accounts receivable within a healthcare setting; or completion of a related degree program
- Strong data entry and computer skills
Preferred:
• Associate’s degree in healthcare administration, medical billing & coding, or related field.
• Relevant certification (e.g., CPC, CCS, or equivalent)
