Raise is currently hiring a Project Controller on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is one of North America's leading energy infrastructure companies with operations in natural gas, oil and power industries throughout Canada, the United States, and Mexico

Note: The primary pay rate is based on CW classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an C2C classification, where applicable.

Description

The Project Controls Analyst in this role will provide foundational project management support services throughout the lifecycle of capital projects—spanning project initiation, cost management, change management, progress measurement, reporting, and project closeout. Operating under the close guidance of intermediate and senior project controllers, you will collaborate closely with project managers and cross-functional teams (engineering, procurement, construction, and accounting) to track metrics, analyze project data, and maintain audit-ready records. Responsibilities

• Reviews PC Organizational structure and maintains staffing worksheet
• Good understanding of overall project scope
• Reviews Estimate and provides input for mapping to the control WBS
• Reviews schedule and maintains list of project key milestones
• Maintains project time phasing for control budget and estimate to complete
• Completes requisitions for commitment of project materials and services
• Compiles incurred costs reporting and variance explanations
• Updates cost management system with time phased data, contractor progress and project trends
• Review project invoices to ensure that costs align with incurred costs
• Review contractor cost and progress and provide input to estimate at completion
• Basic awareness of Earned Value Management, rules of credit, and progress measurement
• May monitor cost progress and performance metrics to establish potential and pending trends
• Exercises judgment in the classification, compilation and analysis and project trends
• Participates in HRIM and QRA meetings
• Assists in the preparation and compiling of detailed project cost reports, scorecards, and project scans
• Provides overall support to Intermediate and Senior Project Controls
• Involved in administrative project close-out activities
• Supervision, Performance and Experience
• Typically operates with clearly defined assignments.
• Work is normally subject to review in detail.
• Works under close supervision and usually under the guidance of an experienced Project Controller
• Would be part of a project controls team on large scale projects and support intermediate and senior pc, may have more of a pc administration role.
  
  

Qualifications

• 0 to 5 years of professional experience (targeting candidates with approximately 1 year of practical exposure supporting low- to moderate-risk capital projects).
• Basic understanding of project cost control, scheduling principles, and financial systems (familiarity with tools like SAP Project Systems, Pims Cost Management, or advanced Microsoft Excel is a strong asset).
• Fundamental awareness of Earned Value Management (EVM), progress measurement rules of credit, and cost-schedule variance tracking
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collect, synthesize, and report data clearly from cross-functional stakeholders (such as engineering, procurement, and accounting).
• Demonstrated capability to exercise professional judgment in classifying and compiling data, combined with a meticulous commitment to accuracy and audit readiness.
• Education and Certifications
• University undergraduate degree or graduation from a technical college program in a related discipline (e.g., Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or Construction Management).
