- Job Title: Lead Preschool Teacher
- Schedule: Full-time or Part-time (Monday–Friday, day shifts only)
- Pay: Starting at $22/hour, based on qualifications and experience
- Location: Woodstock, VT
About Rainbow Playschool Rainbow Playschool is a nature-based, PreK-Qualified, Licensed Child Care Center serving children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. For over 40 years, we've been a cornerstone of the Woodstock, VT community. As a 4-star, state-accredited, community-owned nonprofit, we believe in fostering development through outdoor play, hands-on exploration, and intentional teaching. Our board of directors is composed of current and former parents, and our dedicated staff shares a deep commitment to nurturing each child’s growth.
What You’ll Do As a Lead Preschool Teacher, you'll take the lead in shaping an engaging and responsive learning environment for our young learners. Responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum and lesson plans
- Leading a classroom of preschoolers with warmth, creativity, and intention
- Managing classroom routines and transitions with consistency and care
- Supporting outdoor learning and organizing activities like local nature walks andcommunity outings
- Collaborating with assistant teachers and peers to ensure a cohesive teaching approach
- Maintaining open, professional communication with families, including daily reports anddevelopmental updates
- Utilizing Teaching Strategies GOLD for child development observation and assessment(training available if needed)
- Completing at least 15 hours of professional development annually

Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Education (Bachelor’s preferred)
- Vermont Teaching License (required)
- Willingness to learn and apply child assessment tools like Teaching Strategies GOLD
