Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that support early childhood development, including literacy, math, physical education, and social skills.
- Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment that encourages curiosity and independence among children.
- Manage classroom activities with effective behavior management techniques to promote positive interactions and discipline.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns.
- Plan engaging lessons and activities tailored to various developmental stages, including toddlers, preschoolers, and children with special needs.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate records of children's progress and incidents.
- Incorporate best practices in child welfare, early intervention strategies, and Montessori or other educational philosophies as applicable.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings.
- Knowledge of child development principles, classroom management techniques, and behavior management strategies.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with parents, colleagues, and administrators.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional credentials in special education or early intervention are a plus.
- Familiarity with curriculum development, standardized testing for young children, and literacy education methods.
- Experience teaching physical education or tutoring young learners is desirable.
- Ability to follow mandated reporting laws diligently and uphold child safety standards at all times.
- Prior classroom experience with toddlers or preschool-aged children preferred
