Salary Range: $130,000 to 150,000/Year
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager – School Modernizations to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of school modernization projects. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical construction knowledge, and experience working with educational facilities. This role ensures that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Coordinate design and construction phases to meet school facility standards.
- Lead pre-construction meetings, site walkthroughs, and progress reviews.
- Oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
Technical Oversight
- Review architectural and engineering drawings for accuracy and constructability.
- Ensure compliance with DSA, ADA, LEED, and other applicable building codes.
- Monitor safety practices and quality standards on-site throughout construction.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Serve as the main contact for school administrators, district officials, and contractors.
- Facilitate communication among architects, engineers, and project stakeholders.
- Provide progress reports and updates to internal teams and clients.
Contract & Budget Management
- Prepare bid documents and assist with contractor selection.
- Manage contracts, budgets, and change orders.
- Track project costs and ensure adherence to financial goals.
- Maintain knowledge of prevailing wage laws and requirements.
School-Specific Responsibilities
- Plan construction activities to minimize disruption to school operations.
- Coordinate with school staff for safety, access, and scheduling needs.
- Manage challenges associated with working in occupied educational facilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 5 years of experience managing public or K–12 school construction projects.
- Strong understanding of Design-Build and Lease-Leaseback delivery methods.
- Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, or MS Project preferred.
- Knowledge of prevailing wage laws and public works requirements.
- OSHA certification preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
