- Ensure IT practices align with internal policies, governance standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide independent, objective validation and assessments for senior management and executive leadership.
- Identify and address gaps in legal and regulatory compliance (data protection, cybersecurity, state/federal rules).
- Recommend and help implement IT controls that support legal obligations (e.g., data retention, breach notifications).
- Evaluate and improve IT policies for legal soundness, currency, and effective implementation.
- Translate technical findings into actionable, business-focused recommendations for leadership.
- Prioritize remediation and improvement based on risk to business, legal, and compliance-not just technical severity.
- Identify and recommend elimination of redundant, outdated, or non-compliant systems.
- Deliver a clear, actionable roadmap including technical, policy, and compliance recommendations.
- Facilitate coordination among IT, legal, compliance, and risk management teams.
- Utilize expertise in IT, finance, HR, and Mississippi public sector practices to solve complex problems.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders through reports and presentations.
- Manage client and stakeholder relationships, including expectation and conflict management.
- Lead and manage consulting engagements, including planning, execution, time management, and risk mitigation.
- Prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and support budgeting and financial forecasting.
- Work independently with strong organizational and decision-making skills, ensuring accountability for deliverables.
- 10 years with a large consulting company or in an oversight capacity.
- 10 years delivering consulting/advisory services.
- 5 years working with Mississippi state agencies.
- Experience with the Department of Labor.
