Summary Of Key Responsibilities
- Lead Design & Development:
- Design and develop high-performing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, and Purview.
- Build and optimize large-scale ETL pipelines for high-performance, high-availability environments.
- Data Integration & Transformation:
- Create, manage, and optimize ETL workflows that ensure timely, accurate, and secure data delivery for analytics and reporting.
- Ensure data quality, validation, and resilience in ETL processes.
- Cloud Platform Expertise:
- Leverage the Azure ecosystem to manage structured/unstructured data and enable analytics in CIMS Data Warehouse/Data Lake.
- Integrate large data sets into Azure Synapse Analytics for downstream data-driven insights.
- Performance Optimization:
- Continuously tune ETL processes for minimal latency and maximum throughput, meeting stringent performance requirements.
- Security & Compliance:
- Embed security and compliance best practices in ETL processes, ensuring adherence to data governance, RBAC, and regulatory standards.
- Utilize Azure Purview for data governance, lineage, and policy enforcement.
- Collaboration & Leadership:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineers, analysts, business stakeholders, security) to deliver solutions that meet evolving needs.
- Serve as a technical leader and mentor for junior staff on best practices in data processing.
- Documentation & Best Practices:
- Develop and maintain thorough documentation for ETL processes.
- Establish and enforce best practices for data handling, development, and security.
- 7 years experience in ETL development and data engineering.
- 3 years hands-on experience with ADF, Azure Cloud, Databricks, Synapse Analytics, and Purview.
- Proven expertise in Spark, Python, and/or Scala for data transformation.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with complex data structures.
- In-depth knowledge of data governance, security, and RBAC in Azure.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/related field or equivalent work experience (including SOA and Azure).
- Must complete Level II background check and Security Awareness Training.
- Microsoft Azure certifications (Data Engineer Associate, Solutions Architect Expert, Fundamentals).
- Azure Databricks Data Engineer Associate certification.
