Key Responsibilities
- Install insulation on piping systems including Chilled Water, Hot Water Heating (HWH), Glycol, Domestic Water, Rainleader, and associated systems.
- Apply insulation to equipment and components such as pumps, valves, tanks, and other mechanical system elements.
- Perform duct insulation using duct wrap and duct board materials.
- Execute outdoor insulation applications, including weather-resistant finishing and protective jacketing.
- Measure, cut, and fit insulation materials according to specifications and project requirements.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in proper working order.
- Follow blueprints, work orders, and technical specifications to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Adhere to company and industry safety procedures and guidelines.
- Collaborate with project managers, foremen, and team members to meet project schedules and deadlines.
- Transportation to job sites required.
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Insulation Mechanic or in a similar trade preferred.
- Knowledge of insulation materials, techniques, and industry best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Physical ability to lift, climb, bend, and work in various environments (indoor/outdoor, heights, confined spaces).
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- OSHA or other safety training certifications.
- Familiarity with mechanical systems in commercial, industrial, or institutional settings.
