Delivery Driver

Job Summary

We need a dependable Delivery Driver to transport steel orders safely and promptly to local job sites and customers. You will operate a non-tractor-trailer flatbed or truck, load and secure heavy metal cargo, and represent our shop with professional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate truck, trailers and other specialized equipment for steel and equipment transportation
• Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to ensure on-time deliveries across diverse locations
• Load and unload cargo
• Maintain compliance with FMCSA, DOT regulations, and hazardous materials regulations during all phases of transportation
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks to identify mechanical issues or safety concerns before and after each trip
• Document delivery details accurately, including mileage logs, delivery receipts, and incident reports
• Communicate effectively with the Shop Supervisor regarding route updates, delivery status, or any issues encountered during transit

Experience

• Proven experience in truck driving
• Demonstrated ability to operate different types of trucks such as truck and trailers, flatbeds
• Familiarity with GPS navigation tools for efficient route planning and execution
• Knowledge of logistics cargo handling procedures for freight loading and unloading
• Valid driver’s license

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 55.0 per week
