Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Procurement Coordinator to support the County’s purchasing and contract management operations. This role is responsible for facilitating the full procurement lifecycle, from solicitation development through contract execution and administration, for goods, services, and construction.
The Procurement Coordinator will collaborate with departments, vendors, and legal teams to develop solicitations, manage contracts, ensure compliance, and support procurement strategy. This position requires strong organizational skills, knowledge of public procurement practices, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in procurement, contract administration, or a related field (or five (5) years in lieu of a degree)
- Experience developing and managing solicitations (RFPs, ITBs, RFQs, etc.)
- Experience drafting scopes of work, specifications, and contract documents
- Experience administering contracts, including compliance monitoring and issue resolution
- Experience coordinating with internal departments, vendors, and legal teams
- Experience conducting research, analysis, and preparing reports or agenda items
- Experience maintaining procurement files and documentation (electronic and hard copy)
- Experience responding to public records requests in compliance with regulations
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and procurement systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience Preferences
- Experience working in a government or public sector procurement environment
- Familiarity with Florida procurement laws, Sunshine Law, and public records requirements
- Experience with contract negotiations and vendor management
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed
- Ability to perform tasks involving bending, kneeling, and reaching
- Ability to work in an office environment with occasional exposure to various work settings
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Public Procurement, or a related field required
- High school diploma/equivalent with five (5) years of procurement experience
Education Preferences
- Master’s degree in Public Administration, Procurement, or a related field
- Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) or equivalent certification (or ability to obtain within three (3) years)
