Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HVAC Technician III to lead advanced maintenance, installation, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems across multiple facilities.
This role is responsible for performing complex HVAC work, specifying system requirements for installations and replacements, and ensuring all work, both internal and contracted, is completed in compliance with project specifications and applicable codes. The HVAC Technician III monitors system performance, adjusts automated controls to maintain optimal conditions, and provides guidance and oversight to junior technicians.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and a commitment to safety, quality, and operational efficiency in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive environment. Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years of full-time experience as a Journeyman HVAC Technician, HVAC Technician II, or equivalent role
- Experience performing advanced diagnostics, repair, and installation of commercial and residential HVAC systems
- Experience overseeing or inspecting HVAC installation and repair work for quality and compliance
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Experience working with HVAC automated control systems and system optimization
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate work vehicles
- Strong leadership, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience Preferences
- Possession of a State of Florida or equivalent Master HVAC license
- Experience supervising or mentoring HVAC technicians or apprentices
- Experience working in government, municipal, or large-scale facility environments
- Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and compliance standards
- Certifications such as EPA Universal Certification or NATE (North American Technician Excellence)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach throughout the workday
- Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying environmental conditions
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors, including exposure to heat, noise, dust, and mechanical systems
Education Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a vocational or technical training program in HVAC
Education Preferences
- Additional technical certifications in HVAC, refrigeration, or mechanical systems
- Advanced training in HVAC system design, controls, or energy efficiency
