Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mason II to perform advanced masonry and concrete work in support of construction, maintenance, and repair of county facilities, roadways, bridges, and drainage systems.
This role is responsible for independently performing concrete forming, placement, and finishing for a variety of structures including curbs, sidewalks, slabs, foundations, and drainage components. The Mason II also supports paving operations, assists in material planning, and operates construction equipment while maintaining safe and efficient job sites.
The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of construction practices, works well in field environments, and demonstrates a high level of craftsmanship, safety awareness, and reliability. Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of six (6) years of masonry, concrete, or construction trade experience
- Extensive experience with concrete forming, placement, and finishing techniques
- Experience working on roadways, drainage systems, or infrastructure projects
- Ability to operate construction tools, vehicles, and motorized equipment
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate work vehicles
- Basic computer skills for communication and reporting
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Experience Preferences
- Possession of a CDL Class B license or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire
- Experience working in public works, municipal, or large-scale infrastructure environments
- Familiarity with drainage installation, culvert systems, and roadway construction
- Experience assisting with material estimation and job planning
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and equipment
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, humidity, and noise
- Ability to safely operate tools, heavy equipment, and machinery
Education Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent

- Technical training or coursework in masonry, construction, or a related trade
