Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Mason I to perform entry-level masonry and construction support work across a variety of facilities, roadways, bridges, and infrastructure projects.
This position is responsible for assisting with concrete work including forming, placing, and finishing surfaces such as sidewalks, curbs, slabs, driveways, and drainage structures. The Mason I will also support drainage system installation, paving operations, and general construction activities while following established safety guidelines and maintaining work zones.
The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and eager to develop trade skills while working in a team-oriented, field-based environment. Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of one (1) year of masonry, concrete, construction, or related trade experience; or completion of an apprenticeship or internship program
- Experience assisting with concrete forming, placement, and finishing
- Experience working with construction tools, materials, and equipment
- Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain safe work zones
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate work vehicles and equipment
- Basic computer skills for communication and reporting
- Strong work ethic and ability to perform physical labor
Experience Preferences
- Experience working on roadways, drainage systems, or public infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with concrete finishing techniques and masonry tools
- Experience operating construction equipment or machinery
- Experience working in outdoor or field-based environments
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and equipment
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, humidity, and noise
- Ability to safely operate tools, equipment, and machinery
Education Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
