Automation Project Manager :
The Automation Project Manager is responsible for leading automation and IT-focused lifecycle management (LCM) and obsolescence (EOSL) projects across manufacturing and operational environments. This role manages end-of-service-life (EOSL) initiatives ranging from firmware updates to full control system upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to operations while maintaining compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end execution of automation lifecycle and obsolescence projects
- PLC, HMI (PanelView), SCADA, and controls system upgrades
- Project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution
- Cross-functional team coordination (Automation, IT, Engineering, Quality, Validation, Operations)
- Vendor and system integration management
- Lifecycle management strategies and cybersecurity alignment
- Drive validation (CSV) and ensure GxP compliance
- Develop project documentation (project plans, risk assessments, change controls, status reports)
- Risk identification and mitigation (obsolescence, downtime, integration)
- Support shutdown planning, system cutovers, and startup activities
- Stakeholder communication and reporting
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, or related technical field
- 5 years of project management experience in automation, controls, or IT systems within pharma/life sciences manufacturing environments
- Proven experience managing automation upgrade or obsolescence (EOSL) projects
- Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs (PanelView), SCADA systems, and industrial automation infrastructure
- Experience with validation processes (CSV) and regulated environments is highly preferred
- Familiarity with change control, risk management, and lifecycle management practices
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- PMP or equivalent project management certification is a plus
