Remote Staff Accountant

Job Overview

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Remote Staff Accountant to join our client's finance team on a Full-Time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated accounting professional to contribute to the financial integrity and success of a dynamic organisation. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, capable of working independently in a remote setting while managing a variety of accounting responsibilities with precision and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established accounting principles.
• Prepare and post journal entries, conduct detailed analyses, and perform account reconciliations for month-end closing.
• Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment collections.
• Analyse financial data and prepare management reports to support decision-making.
• Assist with the preparation for external audits and contribute to tax compliance activities.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and help implement best practices within the finance department.
• Ensure adherence to all internal financial controls and company policies.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience working as a Staff Accountant or in a similar accounting role.
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency in accounting software and the Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
• Exceptional analytical skills and a high level of attention to detail.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
