【Summary】
Production Maintenance Group Engineer is responsible for ensuring high reliability, availability, and uptime of production-related equipment and processes. This is achieved through Gemba activities, analyzing maintenance data and trends, and implementing improvement action plans. The role requires close collaboration with various departments and direct communication with the Japan engineering team, making Japanese language skills essential. The position reports directly to the PMG Manager.
【Essential Duties】
・Complete training and ongoing education to become the in-house expert on TCU production machinery
・Maintain close contact with Japan’s Process Engineering team to optimize production machinery (communication in Japanese required)
・Conduct daily Gemba walks and monitor maintenance data to identify performance trends
・Lead structured problem-solving activities to address equipment issues and confirm effectiveness of corrective actions
・Work closely with Production and Quality Engineers to improve product/process quality
・Review and revise equipment instructions as needed to ensure consistency with actual procedures
・Collect and visualize key PMG performance metrics
・Support departmental KPIs and company business objectives
・Assist with implementation of new machinery and processes in line with APQP standards
・Perform additional duties as assigned by the Quality Manager or upper management
【Qualifications】
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field required
• Business level Japanese proficiency (speaking, reading, and writing) required
• 3 to 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience or equivalent training preferred
• Strong analytical, communication, and cross functional collaboration skills
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles preferred (Six Sigma Green Belt a plus)
• Familiarity with Japanese manufacturing methodologies such as Kaizen, 5S, Genchi Genbutsu, and Monozukuri preferred
• Experience with problem solving tools such as DMAIC, FTA, and 5 Why Analysis preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required
• Experience with SolidWorks and 3D printing is a plus
Salary : $60,000 - $80,000
