Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Parts Runner / Installation Assistant to support our technicians in the field. This role is responsible for transporting parts and materials, assisting with HVAC and refrigeration installations, and providing logistical and hands-on support at job sites. The ideal candidate has experience with route driving, warehouse operations, and interest or experience assisting skilled trades.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive a box truck to deliver parts, equipment, and materials to job sites, customers, and warehouses
- Assist HVAC/R technicians with installations, including staging materials, setting up work areas, and handling tools and equipment
- Load, unload, and securely transport parts and materials
- Operate a forklift and other material-handling equipment safely
- Support installation teams by moving equipment, holding components, and performing basic mechanical support tasks as directed
- Use a manual transmission vehicle when required, including in heavy traffic
- Provide professional and courteous customer service at all times
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles, tools, and work areas
- Complete delivery and job-site documentation accurately and on time
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse staff, technicians, and customers
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and company standards
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL preferred but not required)
- Experience in route driving, delivery, or courier services
- Ability to assist with HVAC/R installations or willingness to learn hands-on technical tasks
- Forklift experience preferred
- Ability to operate a manual transmission
- Strong work ethic and commitment to safety
- Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy equipment and materials
- Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and adaptable to changing job-site needs
