Position: Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster

Location: Fully Remote

Coverage States: Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, Wisconsin, Indiana

Type: Contract for at least several months, if they do very well may consider for hire.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster to manage a multi-state WC caseload. This role will focus on claims across Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Indiana. The ideal candidate is well-versed in jurisdictional guidelines, has strong investigative skills, and can independently manage claims in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned caseload of Workers’ Compensation claims from intake through closure.
• Conduct thorough investigations, obtain statements, review medical documentation, and determine compensability.
• Establish and maintain accurate reserves in accordance with company and jurisdictional standards.
• Communicate with injured workers, employers, medical providers, and legal representatives.
• Ensure claims handling complies with state-specific regulations for MI, IL, OH, WI, and IN.
• Prepare reports, document claim files, and maintain timely follow-up.
• Collaborate with internal teams on claim strategy and resolution.
  
  

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of Workers’ Compensation adjusting experience (multi-state experience highly preferred).
• Strong working knowledge of Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Indiana WC regulations.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Active adjusting licenses as required by applicable states (if applicable).
• Proficiency with claims management systems.
