Claims Adjuster (Individual Life Insurance)
We are currently seeking candidates for a Claims Adjuster (Individual Life Insurance). You will be responsible for handling and adjudicating Life Insurance claims, working your way into higher complexity cases as you grow with the company. This position will also be part of succession planning and we are seeking someone who has experience with new hire training, mentoring or coaching and that would like to be a Supervisor/Team Leader.

Position is based in Dallas, TX and will require being in office 3 days a week (hybrid) remote 2 days a week. For anyone not local to Dallas who is willing to relocate to Dallas we will be able to offer some relocations assistance.

Responsibilities Include
- Perform traditional duties associated with the handling and adjudication of traditional individual Life Insurance claims including waiver of premium, and critical illness
- Set up and initial reviews for completeness and accuracy
- Verifying consistency with policy contracts and provisions
- Approvals for payment or denial
- Handling simple contestable claims
- Answering claims related questions from clients
- Monthly and quarterly reporting
- Train and support clerical staff as needed
- Desire to move into Team Leadership
- 2 years of Individual Life Insurance claims handling and adjudication
- Ability to handle multiple priorities effectively and meet deadlines
- Proven problem solving skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with management
- Any experience with team leadership, coaching, mentoring or training is a big plus
- Any experience with process improvement, developing procedures, special projects a plus
- Team player
- Understanding of typical Life Insurance contracts and agreements as it relates to Claims
- Experience with Microsoft Office products
- High attention to detail
