Quest Group is actively recruiting for a Property Accountant for a solid & stable real estate Investment & Development firm. This role supports property operations, asset management, development, and corporate accounting teams by ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, budget oversight, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards. The ideal candidate has experience in commercial, multifamily, mixed-use, or development-focused real estate environments and possesses strong analytical and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilitie
Property Accounting
- Maintain the general ledger for an assigned portfolio of properties and development projects
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules
- Record and reconcile cash activity, accounts receivable, accounts payable, prepaid expenses, accruals, fixed assets, and debt transactions
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations
- Review property operating results and investigate variances from budget and prior periods
- Ensure accurate allocation of expenses among properties, entities, and projects
- CAM reconciliation
Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly property financial packages for management, lenders, investors, and joint venture partner
- Assist with preparation of consolidated financial reports and management reporting package
- Support annual audits, lender reporting requirements, and tax return preparation by providing schedules and documentation
- Maintain compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Assist property managers and asset managers in preparing annual operating budgets and periodic forecasts
- Monitor budget-to-actual performance and provide variance analysis
- Track capital expenditures and development costs against approved budge
Development & Construction Accounting
- Monitor development and construction project costs, contracts, and draw requests
- Process construction pay applications and maintain project cost tracking reports
- Assist with lender draw submissions and documentation requirements
- Reconcile construction loan activity and capitalized project costs
Cash Management
- Review and process vendor invoices and payments
- Monitor cash balances and assist with cash management activities
- Coordinate with property management teams regarding tenant billings, collections, and operating expense recoveries
Compliance & Internal Controls
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation

REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- Experience2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate, property management, real estate investment, or development
- Experience with commercial, multifamily, industrial, office, retail, or mixed-use properties preferred
- Experience with construction or development accounting is a plus.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of GAAP and real estate accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis
- Experience with property accounting software such as Yardi, MRI, RealPage, Entrata, AppFolio, or similar platforms preferred.
- Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
