The Senior Estimator is responsible for preparing cost estimates and bid package responses for electrical and other low voltage systems such as security systems, structured cabling systems, audio-visual systems and nurse-call systems.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Leads estimates and is responsible for overall cost forecasting for prospective projects.
- Performing take-offs on screen from drawings and conducting site visits to understand the constructability of projects.
- Work with preconstruction leadership and project team create a project estimate plan.
- Collaborate with end user clients, GC partners and outside design teams when applicable to gather information on estimates and prepare deliverables as required.
- Ability to conceptually estimate projects based on using historical information and limited design information.
- Understanding plans and specifications to identify the types and grades of materials and equipment needed and to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Submit RFI’s as needed and identify constructability concerns in the estimate package.
- Responsible for ensuring accurate proposal estimates for Design Build and Design Assist proposals.
- Understanding plans and specifications to identify the types and grades of materials and equipment needed and to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Preparing bid packages and obtaining pricing from subcontractors and vendors
- Finalize bid estimates and submit to clients.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years’ experience working as electrical estimator.
- Healthcare, Industrial or Mission Critical project experience preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical equipment, materials, and specifications
- Proficient in the use of a computer and Microsoft Office Suite such as Outlook, Excel, and Powerpoint
- Experience with Bluebeam, Trimble AccuBid Enterprise and LiveCount applications
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints
- Experience with contract documents such as contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addendums
- Detail oriented with the ability to generate high quality work.
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
Salary : $95,000 - $105,000
