Behavioral Health Attendant – Day Shift/Night Shift | Logansport, IN
We are seeking compassionate and dependable Behavioral Health Attendants (BHA) for a healthcare facility in Logansport, Indiana. Position Details
- Role: Behavioral Health Attendant (BHA)
- Location: Logansport, Indiana
- Shift: Day Shift/ Night Shift
- Job Type: 13 weeks Contract
- Pay Rate: $23.00/hour
Responsibilities
- Monitor patient safety and maintain a secure therapeutic environment.
- Observe, document, and report patient behaviors and conditions.
- Assist with implementing individualized treatment plans.
- Utilize de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques when appropriate.
- Escort patients to appointments, activities, and therapy sessions.
- Support patients with daily living activities and independent living skills.
- Assist with recreational and occupational therapy activities.
- Perform basic clerical duties, including documentation, scheduling, filing, and answering unit phones.
- Assist with medication administration under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Provide first aid and respond appropriately to emergencies as needed.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and facility policies.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience with basic clerical duties (filing, scheduling, phone coverage, ordering supplies).
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
- Previous experience in behavioral health, psychiatric care, residential treatment, or correctional settings is highly preferred.
- CPR/First Aid Certification preferred.
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) or similar de-escalation certification preferred.
- Indiana Medical Aide Certification is a plus.
