We are currently seeking a Senior Teradata Data Warehouse Architect. Candidates must be located within 90 miles of Lansing, MI. Interviews will be in person in Lansing, MI. There is no option for a video interview. The work schedule is hybrid with two days onsite in Lansing, MI and three days remote. There is no option for a fully remote work schedule.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for complex batch framework and scheduler processes to ensure current and reliable data is available for critical business processes and decision-making.
- Responsible for Data Warehouse change management infrastructure and all code and DDL promotions, including build engineering tasks for both manual and automated promotion processes.
- Responsible for the complex Linux security model on Data Warehouse ETL servers, including security structure, group access, and sudo authorization.
- Responsible for Teradata security and access.
- Conduct data architecture reviews and audits to ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of data architecture, processes, and solutions.
- Provide support for escalated Data Warehouse issue troubleshooting and resolution.
- Evaluate and recommend new data technologies and tools to improve performance and scalability.
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and effective use of enterprise data assets.
- Manage and support data integration processes, including ETL workflows across multiple systems.
- Collaborate with external vendors and third-party service providers as needed.
- Support patch management, system upgrades, and ongoing system maintenance.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot technical issues across data platforms.
- Perform data profiling and implement data quality rules for assessment and validation.
- Execute data cleansing and standardization using both built-in and custom data rules.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and backup strategies for data systems.
- Lead efforts to migrate data warehouse processes to standardized/common frameworks.
- Conduct elevated access reviews and user audits to ensure compliance.
- Identify and remediate audit findings related to data systems and security.
Required Qualifications:
- 8 years of Teradata experience; this is the top requirement.
- Experience supporting the loading of data from multiple source systems.
- Ability to provide targeted training and technical guidance to development teams for troubleshooting and batch support.
- Minimum of 5 years of Linux experience.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to determine appropriate solutions while adhering to organizational policies and standards.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills, particularly in troubleshooting complex data and system issues.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous government or public sector experience.
- Experience with cloud-based BI tools.

- The team is collaborative and well-established, and is looking for a senior-level resource who can step in and contribute immediately.
- This role will work closely with developers, leadership, stakeholders, internal teams, and vendor staff on a day-to-day basis.
- The project scope includes a large enterprise Data Warehouse environment supporting multiple business program areas.
