Senior EHS Specialist

Position Summary:

The Senior EHS Specialist is responsible for leading strategic Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance with OSHA/TOSHA requirements, and assisting with the management of ISO 14001/45001/50001/14064 and RBA compliance systems. This role acts as a subject-matter expert, mentors junior EHS staff, leads complex investigations, drives risk reduction, and partners with operations and warehouse teams to strengthen safety culture and environmental performance with minimal supervision.

Essential Functions:

·        Serve as lead subject matter expert (SME) for major Employee Health and Safety (EHS) programs including LOTO, Machine Guarding, Hazard Communication, Ergonomics, PPE, GHG tracking, and Environmental Impact Controls.

·        Lead development, improvement, and implementation of EHS procedures and documentation within certified management systems.

·        Guide and mentor EHS staff and cross-functional partners.

·        Interpret and apply OSHA/TOSHA, EPA, RBA and other relevant regulations, lead compliance assessments and audits.

·        Act as liaison with regulatory agencies and certification bodies.

·        Lead investigations for injuries, environmental events, and near misses using advanced root cause methods.

·        Lead ESG/GHG emissions activity data collection and annual reporting.

·        Develop and deliver advanced EHS training to employees and leaders.

·        Lead routine and non-routine shop floor EHS inspections and monitoring activities.

·        Prepare documents for management review and customer audits.

·        Ensure documentation accuracy (training records, CAPAs, risk assessments, incident logs, ISO/RBA requirements).

·        Lead emergency response planning, drills, and coordination with facility teams.

·        Support implementation of improvement initiatives and cross-functional teams.

·        Support Occupational Safety monitoring of heat, noise, light and other areas as identified.

Education and Experience:

·        Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or related field.

·        5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.

·        Experience with ISO 14001/45001/50001/14064 and RBA.

·        Strong regulatory knowledge (OSHA/TOSHA, EPA, DOT).

·        Advanced documentation and analytical skills.

·        Ability to lead initiatives and work independently.

·        Ability to be on call for emergency response, as needed.

Physical Requirements:

•      Work is in a typical manufacturing environment; temperatures are controlled but occasionally can be warmer or colder than typical office settings

•      Wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

·        Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally

·        Ability to distinguish between colors

·        Ability to bend, stoop, stand/sit for prolonged periods, move about production and warehouse facilities
