Tool Crib Attendant – Day Shift

Quality Welding & Fabrication is looking for a dependable, mechanically minded Tool Crib Attendant to support our fabrication and machine shop operations.
This could be a great fit for someone with experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, fabrication, machining, construction, or another hands-on mechanical field who enjoys working with tools and solving problems but is looking for a more consistent day-shift role.
What You’ll Do
- Run the day-to-day operation and organization of the tool room.
- Issue, receive, inspect, and store company tools and equipment.
- Perform basic repairs on hand and power tools and identify equipment needing outside repair.
- Receive incoming materials and deliveries and verify them for accuracy and damage.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of shop supplies and consumables, including welding supplies, abrasives, bits, blades, fasteners, PPE, and machine shop supplies.
- Manage welding gas inventory and coordinate cylinder deliveries and pickups.
- Handle warranty claims and coordinate outside equipment repairs.
- Assist with routine purchasing and ordering, balancing cost, quality, availability, and lead time.
- Maintain accurate inventory, receiving, and purchasing records.
- Help keep the tool room and surrounding work areas clean, organized, and safe.
What We’re Looking For
- Hands-on mechanical aptitude and familiarity with common hand and power tools.
- Experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, fabrication, machining, mechanical repair, construction, or a related field is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to anticipate shop supply needs.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Basic computer skills for inventory and ordering.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize daily responsibilities.
- Forklift experience is helpful but not required; training can be provided.
This is a hands-on position in an active fabrication and machine shop environment. The position requires the ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds as required and to safely perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
