Join our dedicated team at a busy Primary Care facility in Durham! We are seeking passionate and qualified Medical Assistants to provide exceptional patient care while supporting our clinical staff. This is an exciting opportunity for both certified and non-certified candidates who meet specific program requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and room patients with a warm and compassionate approach, ensuring a comfortable experience.
- Accurately obtain and record vital signs and medical history.
- Provide patient education on health maintenance and wellness topics, fostering a proactive healthcare environment.
- Perform various laboratory tests as directed by medical providers, ensuring adherence to safety and quality protocols.
- Assist in a range of clinical duties under the guidance of a medical provider, contributing to patient-centered care.
- Foster effective communication with parents, clinical staff, and medical providers to promote a collaborative healthcare team environment.
- Maintain organized and accurate patient records as per HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or completion of a Medical Assistant program with an externship for non-certified candidates.
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting Program, preferably with an Associate Degree in Medical Assisting.
- Current certifications and immunizations, including:
- Two documented doses of MMR or proof of immunity
- Two documented doses of Varicella or proof of immunity
- Tdap vaccine documentation
- TB testing or questionnaire completed within the last year, or upon hire
- Annual Flu Vaccine documentation, due by November 1st or upon hire
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
