What to expect:

The Medical Assistant (MA) delivers hands-on patient care and clinical support to Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (Nurse Practitioners and/or Physician Assistants) in our pediatric practice. Responsibilities for the Medical Assistant role include bringing patients to exam rooms, taking vital signs, recording information in the electronic medical record (EMR), carrying out medical procedures as instructed, and helping create a clean, efficient, and caring environment for patients.

Salary: $39,000 - $43,680 / year

Job Type: Full-Time

Work Location: Salisbury, MD and Berlin, MD on Rotation

What you will get to do:

· Welcome and room patients professionally, gather and record vital signs, medical history, allergies, and chief complaints

· Prepare patients for exams, assist providers during procedures, and administer medications, vaccines, and injections per orders

· Collect/process lab specimens, perform CLIA-waived testing, and keep exam rooms, equipment, and supplies clean and ready

· Document all patient encounters in the EMR, and support patient care through education, follow-up calls, prescription refills, portal messages, and timely chart/form processing

· Maintain VFC-compliant vaccine storage with daily temperature logs, and prep charts by uploading outside records (newborn screens, labs, imaging, vaccine/medication histories) before visits

· Follow OSHA/HIPAA/infection control standards, participate in meetings and quality improvement efforts, and perform other duties as assigned

You will bring these qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required

· Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (CMA, RMA, or equivalent preferred)

· Clinical experience in Pediatrics practice preferred but not required

· Current CPR/BLS certification required

· Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems

· Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills

· Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.

· Ability to assist with positioning and comforting children during exams or procedures

Shift & Schedule: Monday – Friday, Saturday – On Rotation, Minimum of 40 Hours Per Week
