Janitor/Day Porter - Downtown Asheville & Weaverville Locations

Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented General Cleaner/Janitor to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer service at our clients' facilities. In this role, you will execute daily sanitation tasks, manage supply inventories, and deliver exceptional service during interactions with visitors and site personnel. This is a Monday–Friday, part-time position with the opportunity for full-time advancement in the future. We are currently hiring for both 1st and 2nd shift positions across multiple facility types, including medical, office, government, and industrial environments in downtown Asheville and Weaverville.

Shift Options:

• 1st Shift: Daytime hours; requires high visibility and active customer service.
• 2nd Shift: Evening hours; focuses on facility turnover, closing procedures, and secured sanitation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sanitation & Environment Care: Clean and disinfect restrooms, breakrooms, medical exam rooms, industrial spaces, and public common areas daily according to environmentspecific protocols.
• Customer Service & FrontLine Interaction: Act as a professional representative of Quality Janitorial Group. Greet, assist, and maintain positive, courteous communication with building visitors, clients, and facilities employees.
• Waste Management: Empty trash, biohazard containers (where applicable in medical settings), and recycling receptacles across all designated office, industrial, and common areas.
• Floor Care: Vacuum, dry mop, and wet mop designated flooring surfaces. Perform specialized floor care as required by the facility type.
• Inventory Control: Stock restrooms, medical sanitation stations, and janitorial closets with necessary supplies; report shortages to facilities management.
• Safety & Compliance: Handle commercial cleaning chemicals safely according to OSHA and facilityspecific protocols (including bloodborne pathogen and safety guidelines in medical/industrial environments).

Qualifications:

• Experience: 6 months of commercial, office, medical, or industrial cleaning experience preferred.
• Customer Service Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interface professionally with clients, site facilities staff, and the general public.
• Technical Skills: Ability to safely operate small commercial cleaning equipment (e.g., vacuums, buffers).
• Competencies: Strong time management skills, independence, adaptability to change environments, and the strict ability to follow manual instructions and compliance checklists.
• Physical Ability: Able to lift 30 lbs. or more, stand for long periods, bend, kneel, and climb stairs.
