EVS Janitor/Medical Cleaner - Mills River, NC

Quality Janitorial is a locally, family-owned business seeking a meticulous and reliable EVS Specialist specializing in post-surgery terminal cleaning. In this high-stakes role, you will be responsible for the deep cleaning and disinfection of surgical rooms at the conclusion of the day's procedures. Your work is critical to preventing cross-contamination and preparing the operating rooms for the next day's surgeries. This is a Monday - Thursday position, 5pm to 9pm.

Prior medical or terminal cleaning experience is a major plus, but it is not required. We take pride in our family-oriented workplace culture and will fully train individuals who possess strong attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a deep understanding of accountability.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform "terminal cleaning" of operating and surgical suites daily, following strict healthcare sanitation codes and industry standards.
• Disinfect all surfaces from top to bottom, including surgical lights, tables, equipment, booms, walls, and vents.
• Safely manage medical waste, including the collection and proper disposal of biohazard bags, sharps containers, and standard trash.
• Execute specialized floor care, including sweeping, wetmopping with hospitalgrade disinfectants, and operating floor scrubbers as required.
• Follow strict safety guidelines, including proper donning/doffing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to chemical safety protocols.
• Document and log completions carefully to ensure Quality Janitorial meets regulatory compliance and facility audits.

Qualifications & Skills

• Prior commercial cleaning or healthcare EVS experience is a plus (such as hospitals, clinics, or outpatient centers).
• Exceptional attention to detail; ability to follow rigorous, multistep sterilization checklists without cutting corners.
• High level of maturity and accountability, understanding that patient health relies on your thoroughness.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during latenight or evening shifts.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand/walk for long periods, reach overhead, bend, lift up to 30 lbs., and handle medical-grade cleaning chemicals.

Pay: $16.00 - $17.50 per hour
