We are seeking a proactive and skilled Hotel Building Technician to join our dynamic team in a full-time capacity at our vibrant Quality Inn Houma. Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and repair building systems using schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Operate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to manage automated building functions such as lighting, climate control, and security systems.
- Conduct welding tasks, residential painting, and other handyman duties to maintain the property's appearance and structural integrity.
- Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software to track work orders, maintenance schedules, and inventory levels.
- Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings to diagnose issues accurately.
- Supervise maintenance team members or contractors during complex repairs or projects, ensuring safety standards are met.
- Use tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters for electrical testing and troubleshooting.
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Support customer service initiatives by responding promptly to facility-related guest requests or concerns.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance within a hospitality or similar environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in electrical work, welding, residential painting, and general repairs.
- Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, PLC programming, and electrical testing tools like ohmmeters.
- Ability to operate CMMS software efficiently for work order management.
- Maintain the pool, including chemical balancing and cleanliness
- Excellent communication skills in English to coordinate with team members and report issues clearly.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes or industrial facilities maintenance is a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to prioritize tasks under pressure while maintaining safety standards.
- Basic understanding of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical circuits, and building automation systems.
- Assist with emergency repairs and after‑hours issues when needed
- Support housekeeping and front desk teams with maintenance‑related concerns
- Ensure all safety, cleanliness, and brand standards are met.
